About Ipswich Haven Yacht Club

The club was initially formed as a berth holders association in January 2006 but it was quickly established that the majority of members and potential member's preference was for a Yacht Club. The name was changed to Ipswich Haven Yacht Club mid way through 2006.
We currently have 85 member boats with a good mix of sailing and motor boats.

We have had good sailing and social programmes having visited Haven Ports, Walton and Frinton and Royal Norfolk and Suffolk Yacht Clubs last Season.

Marconi Sailing, St Edmundsbury, The Old Gaffers Association and Shotley Point Yacht Clubs visited our 'works in progress' Clubhouse during the 2007 season.

We aim to have more cruises and more adventurous trips in 2009 and the Clubhouse which is now largely complete will host more social events and hopefully more visiting Yachtspersons.

We enjoy a good relationship with Ipswich Haven Marina and they have been very helpful in the establishment of the Clubhouse which will be fully opened at Easter when we are expecting several clubs to visit us.

We are looking to become affiliated to the RYA when funds allow and would like to play our full part in developing the recreation of boating in the area.
